Exposure Tracker for FFPC Playoff Challenge
I made a tool for you to use if you're considering firing several entries at this tournament
Hey folks,
No article today, just a tool I made to track my own teams I figure you can have access to a copy of if you like.
Just below the pay-wall is a link to my FFPC Playoff Challenge Exposure Tracker: a handy tool that will make it easier to keep track of your teams and determine your ideal exposures, especially for people entering 10, 20, or more teams into the two FFPC tournaments.
The way it is set up allows you to enter your planned, optimal exposures to each player in the tournament, plus kicker, defense, and hard fade for each team. Use decimals: for instance “0.5” = 50%.
You will notice as you enter your ideal exposures that the cumulative total of your exposure for each of the positions changes. In order to have a viable suite of lineups with your optimal exposures, you will need the number at the bottom of the sheet to equal “1” for Defense, kicker and QB, and “2” for hard fade. TE does not have to add up to 1, though it has to add up to AT LEAST 1, and it’s useful to track. There is no individual column for WR and RB since both are flex-worthy. You’ll know if you need to add or subtract WR/RB exposure based on the outputs in your other position groups with set limits.
USER NOTE: As you make your sheet, enter exposures team by team. Then check once you are done entering each team that your “optimal exposure remaining” tab is a whole number. If it’s not, you didn’t give yourself exposures to a team that adds up to 1, making your optimal exposures non-viable
Then, as you actually fill out your teams you’ll increase the “count” column by one next to the player you pick each time you select them. When you finish a lineup add one to the “completed” row at the bottom of EACH SHEET. If you do it correctly, the sheet will update your exposure on the fly, so you can see who you may need more or less of in your upcoming entries.
USER NOTE: Just as you did with your optimal exposure entries, check after you’ve completed each team that your “Live Exposure Remaining” tab is 0. If it’s not, you missed an entry. If it is, move on to the next team.
To use the sheet, open up your own new google sheet, and make sure to name two tabs “AFC” and “NFC” when you do. Then copy in the two tabs from the linked sheet and it should work.
USER NOTE: If you get a “#REF” in any of your boxes - likely the bottom rows of the front sheet - go into the formula tab and retype any portion of the “NFC!” in the formula. That should fix it.
It’s probably more effort than it’s worth if you’re only doing a handful of entries, but I designed it for myself to make things a bit easier on me as I enter through teams and I think it may make it easier for any of you who are firing at this hard core. I figured no harm in sharing!
If you are proficient with spreadsheets and you’d like a wider net of players included or don’t like the formatting, feel free to use this as an inspiration to build your own sheet, or just make any adjustments you like within your copy. In any case, have fun and happy playoffs!
