Hey folks,

I’m writing this up in case you have any rookie drafts starting tomorrow, and also to make my job a little easier on Saturday Night / Sunday morning.

If you want long-form breakdowns on every player in the draft… please check out the archives: I have at least some thoughts on almost everyone drafted in the last two days on this site.

I also posted my pre-draft 2025 rookie rankings last weekend, which you can find below.

I will note that while what happens on the field matters more than where the players are drafted, I think it’s been a strong couple of days for the T.A.T. Rankings, and I’ll briefly pump my tires if you’ll oblige me. Notable fades such as Shedeur Sanders, Cam Skattebo, and Jaylin Noel all were drafted lower than expected or not taken. If anything I wish I’d disregarded these players’ projected draft capital and simply ranked them where I wanted to.

Meanwhile, notable stands such as R.J. Harvey, Tre Harris and Jack Bech were drafted closer to my ranking than their draft capital expectation. I also hit on Dart QB2 and Loveland TE1. The largest weak point was placing Kaleb Johnson ahead of Quinshon Judkins. Johnson will have a chance to earn back that ranking in time, but a 50+ draft slot gap was more than I expected to see.

All in all, I hope anyone who used these to draft last weekend came out feeling ahead of the game.

Pre-Draft 2025 Rookie Rankings

Hey folks,

You’re going to get a few sets of rankings from me over the next week or so.

First, I’m going to post tiered rankings immediately post-draft which will purely be my rankings based on where I think each player should go in a vacuum. Today is a rough version of those but only including players who were drafted in the first 3 rounds. Of course, I will wind up ranking several players who hear their name called tomorrow ahead of players toward the bottom of this list.

What you’ll see today is not what I expect ADP to be. And I’m not even taking my expectations of ADP into account with these rankings. In fact, I’ve actively tried to avoid seeing any ADP or any other rankings in order to avoid herding.

There are plenty of rookie drafts taking place this weekend. So my hope is that by Sunday night or Monday morning I will have market-adjusted rankings for you: these rankings will reflect who I am actually taking when I am on the clock in order to hit the target exposures I have in mind for each player.

Lastly, at some point in this coming week I will drop my Rookie Draft Walkthrough which will go tier-by-tier through the ADP landscape of rookie drafts, outlining my target exposures, and favourite spots to trade into, out of, up in, or down in, your 2025 rookie drafts.

For now, let’s just try to put these guys into an order I can make some sense of.
