Underdog Best Ball Mania Rankings

Hello Folks,

With the schedule now released and dynasty rookie drafts gradually fading out, I thought it would be a good time to get you all my first run at Underdog BBM Rankings.

I will try to update these on a (roughly) weekly basis, with additional updates in response to big news.

I’m doing these a little differently this year. In the past I have entirely ignored ADP and largely ranked based on what I think ADP should be. I want my rankings to be more actionable this year so I’ve tried to incorporate the market into my ranks. Of course, things get far looser toward the end, though you should be making your last few picks more based on correlation and positional needs than ranking anyhow.

In the spots where I’ve taken big stands, these reflect actual picks I am making in drafts — albeit not every draft.

For example, do I want 80% Breece Hall this year? no. Would I pick him every single time in the early-mid 3rd if that were his price? yes. Do I click him there on some of my teams now? Yes — because I want to pair him with players going at the turn opposite from him. Alternatively, I think both Hall and Travis Hunter are Round 3 players and I want teams with both together which you can’t do if you wait until Round 4 to take them.

You should view these rankings as the rankings I would (and do) draft off of… to a point. Every draft is different and I want to experiment with different structures, stacks, combinations etc. so I’m never particularly rigid. But if I had one draft as of today, this is how I’d rank the players going in and I would make my picks accordingly.
